He Worthiness Of Jesus ( 1)

“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased,” ( Revelation 4: 11 NLT).

” And I saw a strong angel, who shouted with a loud voice: ' who is worthy to break the seals on this scroll and open it?”' But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll and read it. Then I began to weep bitterly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll and read it. But one of the twentyfour elders said to me, “Stop weeping! Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the heir to David’s throne, has won the victory. He is worthy to open the scroll and its seven seals,” ( Revelation 5: 2- 5 NLT).

True worship belongs only to our God. Jesus stated this fact when Satan tempted Him in the wilderness, He responded to Satan’s request for worship thus, “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘ You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him,’” ( Matthew 4: 10 NL T). The word “only” in this quote simply means that our worship should be to God alone. He alone is worthy of our worship.

One of the reasons we worship God is because He is worthy. Each time we sing songs declaring the worthiness of God, we proclaim his greatness and exclusive rights. To be worthy means to be deserving or to ha ve a right. The Bible teaches that the Lord has a right to first place in our lives.

Jesus is worthy because He accomplished salvation for us His people. We were in bondage to sin and death and He conquered both of them for us. He alone was found worthy to open the scroll and loose the seven seals.

The death of Christ was a vicarious act. He died in our place. He took the punishment, which was rightfully ours. Due to sin, we were condemned to eternal death, but He took our sins upon Himself and gave us his worth. Christ is worthy because He overcame Satan, sin and t he world and translated us from the kingdom of Satan to His kingdom; now we are citizens of a new kingdom.

Jesus is worthy because He declared: “It is finished,” on the cross. This means that the penalty and price for our sins have been fully paid.

He is worthy because His name, His position and power are above all. He has been given a name above all. "He was given authority, honour and sovereignty over all the nations of the world, so that, people of every race and nation and language would obey Him. His rule is eternal — it will never end. His kingdom will never be destroyed," ( Daniel 7: 14 NLT).

"He humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of the highest honour and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,“( Philippians 2: 8- 10 NLT).

He is worthy because all creation and angels worship Him, crying holy, holy, holy, ( Revelation 4: 8).

He is worthy because He existed before the beginning and all of creation bow to Him. "He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together ," ( Colossians 1: 17 NLT).

"He is worthy because He is the author and finisher of our faith," ( Romans 12: 1- 2).
