• Rivers PDP tasks police, DSS on threat to Fubara's life

- From Ann Godwin, Port Harcourt

RIVERS State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has said that it takes teamwork to build a successful nation.

The governor noted that such an approach will diminish tendencies for unhealthy rivalry, frustrating politics of bitterness, considering that government is a continuum.

The governor said: "After my administration, another person will certainly take over; but what is important is for us to work for the common interest of everybody, not for self. If we are talking about self, we will be very destructive. Our policies will be very myopic and short- sighted.

"I want to urge ever yone to think about the well- being of our country first. I want to appeal to ever ybody to stop this politics of bitterness and play politics of friendship.”

The governor made the remark when participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course ( EIMC- 17 Syndicate 5) of the National Institute for Security Studies ( NISS) paid him a courtesy vi sit at the Government

House, Port Harcourt, yester - day.

The governor said that it has now become imperative for policy makers to dra w up futuristic plans that can strengthen governance when implemented, while also protecting the interest of the people.

Fubara emphasised that his administration is ready to leverage artificial intelligence ( AI), considering that it would significantly enhance opera - tional efficiency and trans - form citizen experiences. He stated that advanced societies are accelerating the use of AI, because it enables a faster data- driven decisionmaking process, allowing administrations to make more informed choices that are based on accurate and real- time insights.

He added: "T oday, we are moving from the aspect of physical battle to intellectual battle, and AI is the right model to use to fight crime.” EANWHILE, the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP), in Rivers State, has challenged the State Police Command and the Department of Security Services ( DSS) to rise to their duties and nip the rising political threats from supporters of former governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital T erritory ( FCT), Nyesom Wike, in the bud.
