KARIBI-WHYTE, RE­TIRED SUPREME COURT JUS­TICE, DIES AT 88

RE­TIRED Supreme Court Jus­tice Adol­phus Karibi­whyte died yes­ter­day aged 88.

Karibi-whyte,who was Chair­man of the Nige­rian Con­sti­tu­tional Con­fer­ence be­tween 1994 and 95 died of a heart at­tack in Port Har­court.

He was born on Jan­uary 29,1932 in Abon­nema,river State.

He read law in Eng­land and was called to the bar in 1961.

He was at dif­fer­ent times So­lic­i­tor-gen­eral in Rivers State, As­so­ci­ate Pro­fes­sor of Law, Univer­sity of La­gos, Fed­eral Rev­enue Court judge, Court of Ap­peal judge and Supreme Court jus­tice.

He was also Judge, In­ter­na­tional Crim­i­nal Tri­bunal

He was a Com­man­der of the Order of the Niger (CON) (1998) and Com­man­der of the Fed­eral Re­pub­lic (CFR) (2008).

He is sur­vived by a wife and six chil­dren
