Kwara un­veil new coach to­day

FOR­MER Niger Tor­na­does coach Abubakar Bala was on Tues­day named Kwara United man­ager.

The post be­came va­cant fol­low­ing the exit of for­mer Fly­ing Ea­gles coach John obuh from the strug­gling Ilorin Premier League side on Mon­day.

Kwara con­firmed on their of­fi­cial Twit­ter ac­count that Fly­ing Ea­gles as­sis­tant coach Bala had taken up the reins as the new coach of the Har­mony War­riors.

“The for­mer Niger Tor­na­does coach has been ap­pointed as the new T.A of @Kwa­rau­nit­edfc,” the club wrote.

The club also con­firmed that Bala, who re­port­edly at­tracted in­ter­est from Gombe United and Heart­land, would be un­veiled at the In­door Hall of Kwara State Sta­dium Com­plex in Ilorin on Wed­nes­day.

“I was of­fered a one-year deal and I agreed to terms with the team on Mon­day and I will travel to Ilorin for the un­veil­ing and con­tract sign­ing on Wed­nes­day,” Goal quoted Bala as say­ing.

“It is an hon­our to coach a rep­utable club like Kwara United and I’m look­ing for­ward to mak­ing the best of it.

“I be­lieve that I have the ex­pe­ri­ence and the ca­pac­ity to take the team out of their cur­rent po­si­tion. It is no doubt a tough task but I think noth­ing is im­pos­si­ble.”
