Fed chiefs for NOC/IOC sem­i­nar

No fewer than 11 fed­er­a­tion pres­i­dents un­der the ban­ner of the olympic Sports Fed­er­a­tion in Nige­ria are ex­pected to par­tic­i­pate in the Nige­ria olympic Com­mit­tee/ In­ter­na­tional olympic Com­mit­tee sem­i­nar in Abuja from March 15 to 16.

Ac­cord­ing to the NOC, the theme of the sem­i­nar is Gov­er­nance in Sports.

The body said IOC of­fi­cial Don­ald Bakere ar­rived in Abuja on Tues­day ahead of the event.

Ath­let­ics, bas­ket­ball, bad­minton, box­ing, cy­cling, ta­ble ten­nis, vol­ley­ball, hand­ball, aquatic sports, wrestling and weightlift­ing fed­er­a­tion pres­i­dents are to take part in the sem­i­nar.

The heads of sports groups such as NUGA, school sports and CISM are also ex­pected on the oc­ca­sion.

The NOC Sec­re­tary­gen­eral Tunde Popoola said a lot of sports is­sues would be dis­cussed at the sem­i­nar.
