Plateau PDP agrees on deputy gov, backs useni

The Punch - - PHOTONEWS -

The crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State over the choice of the deputy governorship candidate seems to have been laid to rest with the party calling on all members to support the choice of Dr James Dalok in the 2019 election.

expressing concern over the divided interests among its members on the choice of Dalok by the governorship candidate, Jeremiah Useni, leaders and stakeholders of the PDP called on all to “forgive one another and work towards genuine reconciliation, leave behind the past and work assiduously towards winning the elections in 2019 in the interest of Plateau State.”

This position was contained in a communiqué signed by the Plateau State PDP Publicity Secretary in Plateau State, John Akans, and issued at the end of the party’s state executive meeting in Jos on Saturday.

The party leadership appealed to members to “forgive one another for the survival and progress of our dear state.”

The party also stressed the need to foster unity, trust and wisdom to “minimise mistakes and maximise strength.

Akans said, “Stakeholders in the party noted that the choice of a running mate by our candidate, Senator Jeremiah Useni, should not be allowed to divide the party because all members will be treated fairly as we prepare to form the new government in Plateau. members unanimously stood in support of the choice of Dalok as the deputy governorship candidate in the 2019 election.”
