Gov candidate promises to reinstate sacked workers

THE All Progressives Congress Governorship Candidate in Ebonyi state, sonni Ogbuoji, on Thursday promised to reinstate the over 300 workers of the Ebonyi state University sacked by the state government if elected.

He also promised to pay the new minimum wage, arrears of pensions and gratuities to all workers in the state.

Ogbuoji stated this at a press conference in Abakaliki, the state capital.

He said the state government did not treat workers well and he was prepared to address the situation.

He said, “How can you; in an economy you have personally endangered as the governor of the state; have the temerity few days to Christmas to sack over 300 workers in Ebonyi state University?”

He said since assuming office Governor David Umahi had not employed anybody, but sacked workers.

Ogbuoji said, “The ones that are working, you cut their salaries; and the ones that retired you refused to pay them their entitlements and benefits.

“That is man’s inhumanity to man. I want to assure you that we shall bring back those sacked workers.”
