I’m still in the race, says presidential candidate

The Punch - - POLITICS TODAY - Tobi Aworinde, Abuja

THE presidential candidate of KOWA Party, Dr Adesina Fagbenro-byron, has criticised the process that resulted in the adoption of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the consensus candidate of the Coalition of United Political Parties.

He described the process as faulty and dubiously executed.

The presidential candidate, via his Twitter account, @SFB2019, said, “KOWA Party stands for transparency and accountability and we consider the CUPP process largely flawed and quite dubiously executed. We had nothing to do with it and are not aware.

“The PDP’S cup has finally run over. No matter the chances Nigerians give them, they will always fail us.

“Faulty for the CUPP, having adopted Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the PDP, as its consensus candidate without due process. Please, be assured that KOWA Party was not party to this final decision and we are in the race to win.”
