Before STARDOM

The Punch - - WEEKEND STARTER - Tosin olaniyan With...

What project made you famous?

My first project was the movie titled: ‘Samu Alajo’ by Odunlade Adekola.

How would you describe your journey in acting so far?

It has been wonderful and interesting for me. I never believed that I could get to where I am today, and by the grace of God, I am still going higher. Despite the challenges I faced, I am still satisfied with what I do because acting is something that I like so much.

What are some of the challenges you have faced since you started this career?

Well, one the challenges I tend to face is trying to provide time for myself because acting is timeconsuming and you have no choice but to focus on the project that you have at hand. Also, there are times when you get to the stipulated location and you find out that there is no provision for accommodation for the actors and you have to sort yourself out. There are many others, but still I thank God.

Apart from acting, what else do you do?

I am still a student, so I am usually busy with school work also.

Who are your role models in the movie industry?

My role models are Odunlade Adekola, Bimbo Akintola, Toyin Aimakhu and Genevieve Nnaji.

How did you get into the movie industry?

I started acting when I was younger. When I moved to Abeokuta, I met some friends who introduced me to Saheed, a member of Odunlade Adekola Film Production, and that was how I met Odunlade Adekola, who featured me in his movie. That was how I started. But before then, I usually went for movie auditions.

What do you hope to achieve in the movie industry?

I want to really show the world my talent because I love acting, and I also want to become famous.

How have you been able to handle your fame when you see your fans?

I have been able to handle it because whether I am in a good mood or not, I have to honour their kind gestures towards me because the fans are important people and you can’t despise.
