Cow thieves kill four in Kaduna
The police in Kaduna State have confirmed the death of four people allegedly killed by cattle rustlers at Marbar Agban in Kagoro Chiefdom in the Kaura Local Government Area of the state, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
Spokesman for the force in the state, DSP Yakubu Sabo, said on Friday in Kaduna, Hosea Ayuba, Ado Adamu, Abagu Danladi and Kusa Danladi of Marabar Agban, Kagoro, were killed while three of their cows were stolen.
“About 0300hrs, a case of cattle rustling and culpable homicide was reported to the Kafanchan Area Command through our officers at a checkpoint,” Sabo said.
He said detectives led by the area commander in Kafanchan acted on a tip-off and intercepted a bus with number plate, BLD 43 XA conveying three suspected rustled cows.
The spokesman said in the process, two suspects, both from Unguwan Nungu, Jamaa Local Government Area, were arrested.
He added that the detectives also recovered a motorcycle with number plate, QC 717AKW, belonging to the fleeing suspect.
He urged the public to continue to support the police.
