Attack on Amaechi

The Punch - - NEWS - Daniels Igoni, Yenagoa

THE youth wing of ohanaeze Ndigbo has condemned the attack on the Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, by a group of persons purported to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra in Spain.

The South-south coordinator, ohanaeze Youth Council, Chinedu Arthur-ugwu, who reacted to the incident in a statement in Yenagoa on Monday, said the attack was “illadvised” and did not have the backing of the Igbo.

According to him, the attack on Amaechi was an embarrassment to the nation as IPOB was not an organisation that “enjoys the support and endorsement of the Igbo” and urged IPOB to explore legitimate ways of holding public office holders accountable.
