Akpoti canvasses potable water for residents
The candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the November 16 governorship election in Kogi State, Natasha Akpoti, has canvassed the installation of potable water systems in rural communities in the state.
She said this at the inauguration of four boreholes built by her for some rural areas at the cost of about N5m.
Akpoti, in a statement on Saturday, said the boreholes, which were part of her efforts to serve humanity, were to address the yearnings of the people.
She said in the course of her campaign for the November 16 election, she realised that some communities lacked potable water.
She pleaded with the government to build more boreholes to meet the water demands in rural communities.
“As part of the occasion to mark her 40th birthday, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the last Kogi governorship election, Natasha Akpoti, has restated her commitment to serve humanity at her best by donating boreholes to some communities in Kogi State,” the statement read in part.
Some of the borehole projects were sited in Eika Ohizenyi, Oboroke and Obeiba in Okehi Local Government Area and Inorere in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, among others.
