The Lagos State Government said it had partnered a company, Sirocco Productions Limited, for its 2019 Seafood Festival.

The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Gbolahan Lawal, stated this while addressing the press on Monday.

Gbolahan noted that the festival, themed, ‘Celebrating the Seafood Diversity of Lagos State’, would showcase the state aquaculture and seafood potential to the local and international markets and stimulate the growth of the tourism sector in the state.

According to Gbolahan, the festival, which will hold at the Muri Okunola Park, Victoria Island, on December 22, 2019, will enable participants to network, share knowledge and exchange information on products and services available in the global market.

he said, “Tourism, culture and entertainment are fundamental activities in the state with the potential of boosting the creative economy of Lagos State and making it a tourist destination for both local and international tourists when fully developed.

“In view of the foregoing, the ministry is organising the 2019 Lagos Seafood Festival which will project the state’s diverse seafood resources and bring to the fore its immense potential and the inherent investment opportunities.

“The festival will stimulate investors’ interest in the fishery business and create jobs, as fresh investments are attracted in the fishery sub-sector. I, therefore, urge participants to take advantage of these opportunities.”
