ANIYAN, John Afolarin, Lagos State: The rural areas have suffered the consequences of neglect by past governments and now is the time to actually integrate them in Nigeria’s developmental planning. Nigeria should take the lead in Africa to develop the rural areas. There is nothing wrong in providing basic amenities to rural communites.we must not wait for Bill Gates Foundation and other humanitarian organisations to turn around the living conditions of our people. It’s sad to hear that humans drink from the same water sources with cows or drinking mud or oil polluted water in this country. Apart from the Christian Broadcasting Network and very few missionaries, other humanitarian bodies should take the message of love, care and peaceful co-existence to them in order to complement government’s efforts on empowerment.
