500 ben­e­fit from med­i­cal out­reach in Osun

No fewer than 500 el­derly peo­ple in the Ede/ Egbedore/ejigbo Fed­eral Con­stituency of osun State have ben­e­fited from a med­i­cal out­reach or­gan­ised by the law­maker rep­re­sent­ing the area in the Fed­eral house of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives, Mr Bamidele Salam.

Salam, who is the vicechair­man, house Com­mit­tee on Pen­sion, said he had ini­tially planned to at­tend to the health needs of about 350 el­derly cit­i­zens from the area dur­ing the pro­gramme.

Adding that over 500 peo­ple turned out for the event, he put the cost of drugs and pay­ment for the per­son­nel that would at­tend to the pa­tients at over N12 mil­lion.

Salam said he planned to make the med­i­cal out­reach a quar­terly pro­gramme that would move across the four lo­cal gov­ern­ment ar­eas in the fed­eral con­stituency.

he said, “Ini­tially we planned to reach 350 peo­ple, but as I am see­ing now, the num­ber of ben­e­fi­cia­ries can­not be less than 500 peo­ple. At the last count, we have spent over N12 mil­lion on the pro­gramme.”
