Genoa complete deals for Perin, Behrami, Destro
Italian club, Genoa has completed the signing of Mattia Perin, valon Behrami and Mattia Destro. Perin officially completed his six-month loan transfer to Genoa from Juventus. The Lega Serie A website confirmed the contract had been deposited with the authorities, as Perin underwent a medical this week.
It is a loan deal until the end of the season from Juventus, just 18 months after Genoa sold him for €14.2m plus bonuses. The 27-year-old goalkeeper played only nine games for Juventus and became their third choice once Gigi Buffon came back this summer.
Genoa also announced the arrival of Valon Behrami as a free agent and Mattia Destro from Bologna. The 34-year-old Swiss international was a free agent after his deal with FC Sion was terminated by mutual consent at the start of October.
This is a return to Serie A and indeed to Genoa, where Behrami already played in 2003-04. Destro on his part, had already been on the Grifone’s books from 2010 to 2013, although he spent much of that on loan, making just 18 appearances for the club.
The Grifone are revolutionising their squad during the Winter break, having hired Davide Nicola as their third
coach of the season, picking up the reins after Thiago Motta and Aurelio Andreazzoli.
