Ondo APC ward chair’s abductors demand N10m ransom
The abduction of the ward chairman of the
All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, James Ajulo, have demanded N10m in ransom for his release.
Ajulo was kidnapped in front of his house in Akungba Akoko town, Akoko Southwest Local Government Area of the state on Sunday.
he was whisked to an unknown destination in his own vehicle.
however, a family source on Tuesday said his abductors had contacted the family, demanding N10m for his relaese.
According to the source, the hoodlums made the demand when they spoke with the wife of the victim.
he said, “The abductors contacted the family on the telephone this morning (Monday). They used his (Ajulo) handset to call his wife around 11.30am, asking her to raise N10m before they would release her husband.
“his wife pleaded with them not to harm her husband, promising to get back to them soon. But we have noticed that the kidnappers have switched off the phone.”
Meanwhile, a 60-yearold farmer, Mrs Banji Ademuyiwa, who was abducted along Oba Akokoikun Akoko road, on December 31, 2019, was released on Monday after her family allegedly paid her abductors N60,000.
Spokesman for the police in the state, Femi Joseph, promised that they would arrest Ajulo’s abductors soon.
