Ondo APC ward chair’s ab­duc­tors de­mand N10m ran­som

The ab­duc­tion of the ward chair­man of the

All Pro­gres­sives Congress in Ondo State, James Ajulo, have de­manded N10m in ran­som for his re­lease.

Ajulo was kid­napped in front of his house in Akungba Akoko town, Akoko South­west Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Area of the state on Sun­day.

he was whisked to an un­known des­ti­na­tion in his own ve­hi­cle.

how­ever, a fam­ily source on Tues­day said his ab­duc­tors had con­tacted the fam­ily, de­mand­ing N10m for his re­laese.

Ac­cord­ing to the source, the hood­lums made the de­mand when they spoke with the wife of the vic­tim.

he said, “The ab­duc­tors con­tacted the fam­ily on the tele­phone this morn­ing (Mon­day). They used his (Ajulo) hand­set to call his wife around 11.30am, ask­ing her to raise N10m be­fore they would re­lease her hus­band.

“his wife pleaded with them not to harm her hus­band, promis­ing to get back to them soon. But we have no­ticed that the kid­nap­pers have switched off the phone.”

Mean­while, a 60-yearold farmer, Mrs Banji Ade­muyiwa, who was ab­ducted along Oba Akokoikun Akoko road, on De­cem­ber 31, 2019, was re­leased on Mon­day af­ter her fam­ily al­legedly paid her ab­duc­tors N60,000.

Spokesman for the po­lice in the state, Femi Joseph, promised that they would ar­rest Ajulo’s ab­duc­tors soon.
