Fayemi re­ceives N1.4bn equip­ment, pledges reg­u­lar wa­ter sup­ply

The Ek­iti State Gov­er­nor, Kay­ode Fayemi, has as­sured all res­i­dents that there will be reg­u­lar sup­ply of potable wa­ter as re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion work on the Ero and Egbe dams would soon be com­pleted.

Fayemi said works on the Ero Dam which would pro­vide wa­ter for 16 lo­cal gov­ern­ment ar­eas, would be com­pleted in June while that of Egbe Dam and the Ureje Waterworks, that would serve the re­main­ing six lo­cal gov­ern­ment ar­eas, had reached ad­vanced stages.

The gov­er­nor spoke at the Ero Dam in the Moba Lo­cal Gov­ern­ment Area of the state while tak­ing de­liv­ery of N1.4bn wa­ter equip­ment for the on­go­ing re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion work at the dam.

he said his ad­min­is­tra­tion’s plan, “is to en­sure that vir­tu­ally all com­mu­ni­ties in Ek­iti State will have ac­cess to potable wa­ter by the time the re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion works on the two dams and Ureje Waterworks are com­pleted.”

The equip­ment re­ceived and in­spected by the gov­er­nor in­cluded nine units of high lift pump, six units of low lift pump and two units of up­wash pump.

They are part of the con­tract for the re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of the dam funded by the Ek­iti State Gov­ern­ment and the World Bank.
