Brew­ster seals Swansea loan deal

wansea City have signed Liver­pool striker rhian Brew­ster on loan for the rest of the sea­son.

Brew­ster, 19, came on as a sub­sti­tute in Liver­pool’s FA Cup third-round win over Ever­ton on Sun­day.

swansea wanted a for­ward to re­place sam sur­ridge, who was re­called from a loan spell at the Lib­erty Sta­dium by Bournemout­h last week.

“I’m very ex­cited to be part of this,” Brew­ster said. “I couldn’t wait to get here and get started, to be hon­est.”

Swans boss Steve Cooper is an ad­mirer of Brew­ster and worked with him dur­ing his time as Eng­land U-17 coach.

Brew­ster fin­ished as top scorer as Cooper’s team won the 2017 U-17 World Cup.

The Eng­land U-21 in­ter­na­tional is likely to make his Swans de­but in Sun­day’s south Wales derby at Cardiff City.

Brew­ster made his first Liver­pool ap­pear­ances in the Carabao Cup ear­lier this sea­son, and played the fi­nal 11 min­utes of their 1-0 FA Cup win over ri­vals Ever­ton.

“I’ve been watch­ing the re­sults and the team closely. It’s a very young team but the qual­ity is sec­ond to none. I want to bring some­thing dif­fer­ent to the team and help them,” Brew­ster added.
