29 grad­u­at­ing stu­dents bag first class at Foun­tain var­sity

ABOUT 307 stu­dents of the Foun­tain Uni­ver­sity, Os­ogbo are set to grad­u­ate dur­ing the 9th Con­vo­ca­tion of the in­sti­tu­tion.

The Vice-chan­cel­lor of the uni­ver­sity, Prof Amidu Sanni, stated this dur­ing a pre­con­vo­ca­tion press con­fer­ence held on the main cam­pus of the in­sti­tu­tion.

The vice-chan­cel­lor said that 29 stu­dents would grad­u­ate with First Class.

He said, “A to­tal of 307 stu­dents are grad­u­at­ing across var­i­ous dis­ci­plines in the 2018/19 aca­demic ses­sion: 29 (First Class), 115 (2nd Class Up­per), 147 (2nd Class Lower) 16 (Third Class) and 5 Post­grad­u­ate stu­dents at Masters’ Level.”

Ac­cord­ing to him, at the grand fi­nale of the con­vo­ca­tion, in­vesti­ture of a new Chan­cel­lor for the uni­ver­sity, Dr Umaru Ab­dul Mu­tal­lab would take place.

High­light­ing var­i­ous achieve­ments of the man­age­ment of the uni­ver­sity, Amidu said some new pro­grammes ap­proved by the school’s Se­nate last year would soon com­mence.

He said a Re­source Ver­i­fi­ca­tion Team from the Na­tional Uni­ver­sity Com­mis­sion would soon visit the in­sti­tu­tion and ver­ify some of the 38 new pro­grammes ap­proved by the Se­nate.
