•He was born on December 26, 1921, in Agbo-oye, Oyo State

•He was the first son of his father, Joseph Faleti, and the only child of his mother, Durowade Faleti

•At the age of 19, he founded a theatre group called Oyo Youth Operatic Society, which was highly successful

•He was responsibl­e for translatin­g Nigeria’s National Anthem from English to Yoruba

•He published a dictionary containing the formal or official use of Yoruba names

•At a time, he was the General Manager of Radio Oyo, Ibadan

•He acted, wrote and produced a number of popular movies, which include ‘Thunderbol­t: Magun’ (2001), ‘Afonja 1 & 2’ (2002), ‘Basorun Gaa’ (2004) and ‘Sawo-segeri’ (2005)

•He received many awards, both locally and internatio­nally, including the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger, Doctor of Letters, Justice of Peace and Jerusalem Pilgrim

•He had two wives, one of whom lived with him for more than 35 years before her death

•He died on July 23, 2017
