Five suspected homosexuals to face prosecution after probe – Hisbah commander
THE Kano State Hisbah Board, aka Sharia Police, has arrested five men suspected of engaging in homosexuality at Sheka Barde, in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement by the board issued to journalists in Kano on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the CommanderGeneral of the board, Sheik Harun Ibn-sina, ordered the arrest of the suspects following reports from residents.
“All the suspects, who are above 20 years of age, were apprehended on July 11, 2021, during a special raid on the area.
“The commander-general expressed outrage over the alleged actions of the suspects, who are youths,” the statement added.
Ibn-sina commended members of the community and security stakeholders for their cooperation and support in the crackdown on corruption in the state.
He said as soon as investigation into the matter was concluded, the suspects would be charged to court.
