Suspected cultists strike again in Anambra, kill three
THree persons were on Wednesday killed in Awka, Anambra State, by a gang of suspected cultists.
The victims were killed in Ifite, in the Awka South Local Government Area around 12.30pm.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the hoodlums operated in a tricycle and shot repeatedly at the Aroma Junction unchallenged for about 20 minutes before they headed for their destination where they killed three people.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, confirmed the incident, adding that the command was on the trail of the killers.
He said, “Investigations are ongoing. No arrest has been made, but rest assured that the culprits will soon be apprehended.”

Abatete, in the Idemili South LGA of the state by gunmen.
our correspondent learnt that the president of the Udala Football Club, Uke, was kidnapped during the attack and three vehicles burnt; the secretary of the club was among the people killed by the gunmen.
At least eight persons have been killed in Anambra State by gunmen in the last one week.
