Arqiva launches new channel ARISE NEWS on Freeview

Arqiva has today announced the launch of global news and entertainm­ent channel ARISE NEWS in standard definition on Freeview channel 136, using the more advanced Digital Video Broadcasti­ng technology MPEG4 DVB-T2. ARISE News will be available to those Freeview viewers who are within the broadcast coverage of Arqiva’s new HD multiplex – around 72% of the UK population - provided they are watching a Freeview HD compatible iDTV or Freeview HD set top box. The ARISE News service should also be available to YouView, BT Vision and TalkTalk TV homes within this coverage area.
