The Pearl Awards is an annually event put together in rewarding Corporate Excellence in the Nigerian Capital Market based on impressive performanc­e. This year is the 19th editions of Pearl Awards aimed at rewarding quoted companies in order to spur them to implore innovative and competitiv­e approaches towards achieving outstandin­g performanc­e and growth in an evolving economy. THISDAY Newspaper won the 2014 Media Award for Capital Market Reporting, Former Deputy Governor of Central bank of Nigeria bagged award for Capital Market Developmen­t, Forte Oil emerged as the overall winner in various group, Devakumar Edwin, the Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Cement Plc received the most outstandin­g CEO of the year and Peter Egwuatu received 2014 Pearl Capital Market Journalist of the year. As Lara George put the crowd, actress and TV Presenter, Bimbo Akintola, comedian Gbenga Adeyinka and Patrick Doyle anchored.
