HOW MANY HEAdS dOES HE HAvE?

The hall was packed, not a seat left untouched and as I scanned the venue, I recognized several of Nigeria’s leading CEO’s and government officials present. for the first time in a long while, I was at a public event, where top ranking government officials where in attendance and the time protocol was being adhered to. No late entry was going to be accommodated and with ten minutes to the start of the event, the compere requested all guests to be seated and soon after announced the entry the vice President of the federal Republic of Nigeria and his special guest, the CEO of facebook, Mark zuckerberg. As the walked into the hall, the usual entourage of security personnel and other vIP’s in tow, the hall rose up in unison to accord honour to the office and person of the vice President and no doubt to the achievement of global recognition of his guest.

The event went through its paces very briskly, none of the usual long winded recognition of everybody under the sun present, no dry speeches that left you wondering what they where talking about or doubting your sanity for being there and amazingly, the program came to an end long before the actual time allotted. I couldn’t help but wonder at the irony of it all and debating if the efficiency had anything to do with the influence of personality in the person of Mr. zuckerberg or if indeed it was a new Nigeria in the making. just a day before, in answering why facebook had only now decided to focus on Nigeria, they had responded that talent is evenly distributed around the world but opportunity is not. Here was Nigeria displaying talent we all knew was available and taking the rare opportunity to show they can make things happen efficiently.

Our God in creating man deposited in each of us a talent He fully expects us to develop and gift the world with. To each one who keys in to that talent and locks in to the purpose for which they were created, the impact their life would have on others the world over is dynamic and immeasurable. later on, in the vP’s private holding room, I was able to meet and observe the 34 year old multi billionaire whose visit had attracted so much buzz in Nigeria and had single handledly altered a nations negative world view perspective, if only for the period he was here. An admonition from my father when I lagged behind in school came to the fore then, “he doesn’t have two heads”I heard my fathers booming baritone ring in my head of the effico that came 1st in my class. “If he can do it, so can you.” Are you ready to gift the world your talent? May the lord use us to positively enhance our nations future.
