About Arise Fashion Week

The return of Arise Fashion Week has been an exciting and eventful journey, It has been such a fantastic project to work on with over 50 designers from Nigeria and the rest of the world and over 130 amazing models. The return of Arise Fashion Week focuses on the new movement of African fashion; a modern yet culturally respectful voice, which incorporated modern techniques, materials, designs with traditional colors, layering, and inspirations. This is an exciting time to being in African fashion, as there are so many new inspiring designers on the horizon that I predict will advance within African and also internationally as their designs speak to both cultures. Both the Nigerian, African and International designers participating in ARISE Fashion Week have a global sensibility; their approach to design is strongly rooted in the DNA of their homeland yet their artistic expression and themes are current, modern and incorporate the global trends of the moment. With a collaboration of established and upcoming designers ARISE Fashion Week allows audiences across Africa and international to understand that the African Fashion scene is a main topic of conversation to be taken seriously within a national and global content. Arise Fashion Week is undoubtedly becoming the pillar, a leader for the future of African fashion. DESIREE EJOH CO-CREATIVE DIRECTOR ARISE FASHION WEEK
