CAMOUFLAGING FLAWS

-

have you found a person that doesn’t have a body flaw or isn’t self-conscious about a particular part of their body? The truth is,the chances are very slim because majority of people do, as only a small percentage can boast being flawless. That’s why people find ways to camouflage their look by wearing things that flatter their body shape. If you understand your body type you will know how to work with it.

The arms: a good number of women are very selfconscious of their arms, they complain about their arms being saggy or not being firm enough either as a result of weight gained over a period of time, or recent weight loss. wearing styles with quarter sleeves is a great remedy, the sleeves can be lace or sheer fabric. wearing sleeveless tops can draw a lot of attention to your arms so avoid them if you can, bulky sleeves gives a more flattering look.

ThE GUT: while you are still working on your abs goal, lets discuss some more workarounds until you get those tight abs. some great options are peplum tops, fit and flare dresses, empire waist dress, shift dress, or you can wear an abs waist trainer if you prefer a more fitted clothing option with a wide band belt. You can also opt for clothes that have details in the abs area. another styling alternative is wearing fitted bottoms with a high low top, an oversized top or with one of the other top options suggested earlier.

ThE LEGS: Did I just say legs? The bootcut pants or wide leg pants are highly recommended. stay away from slim or skinny cut pants if you are knock-kneed as this draws a lot ofattention to that area. when wearing dresses, ensure they are slightly below the knee. ThE BUST: Your bust size is by no means a flaw but it can be if you don’t wear what compliments your figure. Though we have all heard ‘dare to be different’ and not be afraid to take bold steps, it’s a fine line between classy and tacky if the right measures are not taken. For instance, a well-endowed busty woman can wear a V- neckline because it’s flattering to the bust and gives your waist a more defined look. wear your jackets buttoned to nip in your waist. For ladies that are less busty, dresses or tops with plunging necklines and high collars are very flattering and best suited for this body type. You can pair those plunging neckline, turtle necks or high collar tops with high-waist pants or skirts. ThE BUTT/ hIpS: hips are sexy and feminine so it is not a negative. sometimes you may want to make them look slimmer or balance them so they’re in proportion to the rest of your body. a shaped shift dress or straight skirt in firm fabric embraces your feminine figure. longer line tops, tunics, peplum tops and jackets that fall over the hips are also great recommendations. For those with slimmer hips; wearing a top with extended shoulders and a flared skirt adds volume to your hips. You can also achieve this by wearing garments with a nipped in waist with a belt. You can balance out your figure by selecting clothes that accentuate and create curves for the slimmer hips. aramide is a fashion stylist and designer. she is the owner of “aramidescloset” that caters to regular and plus size women clothing, customized designer clutch bags and jewelry accessories. if you have any fashion related questions or would love to know more about her, find her @aramidescloset on instagram or www.thearamide.com.
