JIM OVIA LAUNCHES BOOK IN NEWYORK

THISDAY Style - - COVER -

After the successful launch of his book, Africa Rise And Shine, in Lagos, Jim Ovia went on to launch the book at Harvard Business Club in New York. The event brought together global business leaders from Nigeria and beyond. Even with their busy schedules, titans of various industries from banking, media politics to name a few, made time out to share this moment with the author. Ovia was a perfect host as he personally welcomed each guest. Zainab Badawi had a robust session with him where Jim not only spoke about his humble beginnings but also explained his reason for writing this book. According to him, he wanted people to share in his vision on changing the narrative of Africa. He needed to change the perception of Africa being seen as a dark continent and being known as a continent with the three Cs- coups, corruption and conflict. He went on to talk about the rule of law and corporate governance Africa has embraced and how businesses have grown in Africa.

Looking at how successful Jim Ovia has become and how highly respected he is on the global stage, it comes as no surprise that his book is an instant hit and who is better to hear the narrative of growth in Africa than from the horse’s mouth because his is truly a success story.
