BEAUTY BRANDS AND COVID-19
You’re probably sick of hearing about the pandemic by now. Especially since many of us feel like there’s nothing we can do to help combat COVID-19 except stay at home. Well, we’re wrong. Ladies listen, lots of beauty brands are donating part or all of their proceeds to organisations helping those in need during this crisis. So now is the perferct time to stock up on your favourite brands knowing your purchases are helping them help people who are either suffering from this pandemic and those fighting in the frontline.
MAC COSMETICS VIVA GLAM LIPSTICK MAC Cosmetics announced it plans on donating $10 million to 250 local organizations to help the cause. All you have to do is buy one (or all three) of the brand’s Viva Glam Lipsticks, which we’re betting you would do anyway.
THE BODY SHOP SPA OF THE WORLD BALKAN JUNIPER HAND WASH Since you can never have too much hand soap these days, why not buy from a brand that’s donating 30,000 cleansing products to senior communities and shelters in both the United States and Canada?
DOVE AND VASELINE Dove announced that it will team up with Vaseline to donate $2 million to Direct Relief. The money will go toward PPE, ventilators, and medicine for health care workers.
CLINIQUE The brand is donating 50,000 skin-care products as a thank you to the doctors and nurses in New York City’s hospitals.
ESTÉE LAUDER The beauty corporation donated a $2 million grant to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières to support its efforts in countries that lack substantial resources to combat the coronavirus. It also announced the reopening of a factory in Melville, New York, which will start producing hydroalcoholic gel. “The Estée Lauder Companies is proud to contribute to the broader COVID-19 relief efforts by reopening our Melville manufacturing facility this week to produce hand sanitizer for high-need groups and populations, including front-line medical staff,” it tells WWD.
