Our mental health is screaming out for help and no one can hear us, emotions all over the place like a badly made booboo and no one is listening .... lonely souls begging for a break, just a little light to change the colour of darkness, but alas .... silence...eerie.

We are mostly all either flawed or damaged, many are limping and mangled often lifelessly passing each day like zombies. Life oftentimes deals you a few cards that you are not equipped to play but play you must or you end up incinerated. There are so many depressed people daily putting up a show of “all is well” whilst they are dying within.

No matter how strong you think you are, life sometimes deflates you and then drains the oil that had kept you burning. How does anyone run this race in high spirit when the lows just seem determined to drag you to the lowest level.

Many life issues contend for your sanity, from matrimony to parenting to finances to health issues, to cruel words that burn, the list is endless. You try to rationalise, but you’re unable to reach a logical conclusion as so many things just don’t make sense. The world is determined to pull the rug from under your feet and leave you floating and the grit needed to keep you determined can only be heaven sent because if not heaven sent you will be in hell on earth.

The demons who have decided to trouble us are not taking prisoners right now, it’s interesting how we open ourselves up to them and later wonder how they got in in the first place, seriously, they are not playing ten ten with us and the earlier we realise that there is a war where our souls are in contention, the better for us.

We must learn to shout, scream, BEG for help when we find that we are losing our marbles, there is nothing wrong in admitting that you’re not coping and then reach out to those who can set you on the path to your healing, mental health issues is prevalent in the world we live in and we must not trivialise it when faced with it, get yourself connected to a solid help source and resist the urge to hide. You are afraid people will laugh at you, let them laugh, you need to sort you out ASAP.

I have watched many give up, I have seen many people lose it whilst trying to make out that all is well when all is not well. It’s cool, let people use you for their pull down gossip topics, what do you care if you can find a message in the mess.

Do not believe the lie that says life is problem free, even the good book states clearly that in this world we will face tribulation but that we are overcomers.

Many believe they have God on speed dial and cannot understand why they are so burdened, they cannot see the way forward, no one seems able to reach them as they have recoiled inwards and are bleeding where no one can see and fix. It is time to let go, we must not allow our experiences to castrate our spirit. We must develop the ability to resist the inner voices that daily tell us that we are not enough. Let me tell you something for a fact pilgrim, all that you are is all that is needed for your journey.

Gird your loin and fight for survival, it’s easy to invite the usual suspects to a pity party but you must admit that each time you try, your guest of honour is never in attendance and in case you’re wondering, your guest of honour is God, he hates pity parties especially those thrown by his soldiers. The strength you need to wade through this battle is within, it is that strength that will help you cry out for help when needed. It is in weakness we find strength. No matter how dark the clouds, the sun always peeps at some point, every problem has an expiry date and once over you struggle to remember the pain you went through. To quote Sam Cooke, “it’s been too hard living, but I’m afraid to die”, the story of many lives but live you must, fight to stay alive. Do not give in to fear, do not make friends with pain.

I beg no let us overthink this our time wey we get and the space wey we dey live, make we shaprapra enjoy the days of our lives or we go wound if we go dey form Plato or Aristotle. Oya, pack all you can into the hour doing what “you” want to do .... don’t let anyone spin you no yarn, nobody gets life walahi, nobody does, so clear the clutter, dump the excess, travel light and put depression on fast track out of your world. In a capsule, free your mind, try your best, leave time and tide with the burden of each day, you cannot come and kill yourself like they say in giddy. Las las, we go dey ok.
