What fond memories do you have of your mother as a child?

I have so many beautiful memories with my mum but I’ll mention a few. My mum paid a lot of visits while I was in university. We shopped together, cooked together, cleaned together and spent a lot of time talking about school and life. She’ll even invite my friends over to dine with us. Growing up, we also went on vacations together with the rest of the family. Reminiscing on one of these trips, my mum and I, went around New York looking for an African restaurant to eat. Also, on one of our trips we took her to a spa in the Uk. It was such a beautiful experience.

And lastly, I was my mum’s handbag during my early years.

What key traits did she imbibe in you to make you the person you are today?

The fear and wisdom of God, to love and forgive, to treat everyone equally, to be respectful and inquire of the Lord before making decisions.

able to do when you were younger due to work commitments, children, a lack of time... Not only will you be able to appreciate the finer things in life, but you’ll attack each new venture (and adventure!) with gusto. 3

How long did it take to plan her birthday and how did you manage to not get her involved in the process?

You’re such a priceless gift mum and a rare gem to us and everyone that has ever come in contact with you. When I count my blessings, I count you. Tears of joy roll down my eyes whenever I think of how much you have sacrificed for me.

Almost three months. We tried not to talk about it around her.

What will you like to say to her after marking her special day?

You’re such a priceless gift mum and a rare gem to us and everyone that has ever come in contact with you. When I count my blessings, I count you. Tears of joy roll down my eyes whenever I think of how much you have sacrificed for me. I love you, My Queen. I’m proud of you and all your achievements. And heaven smiles at you because you’ve been such an amazing disciple of God.

There is nothing left to learn the hard way

Well, there’s a lot less to learn anyway.

an abundance of it at that. You’ve been around the block more times than you can count, but you’ve been able to impart some much-needed advice - and given a few lifelong gifts - along the way too.

5 Endless amounts of wisdom

With life lessons comes wisdom, and

Grandchildren. Need we say more?
