Who says the First Cut is the Deepest?

-

While I might not pretend to have ever felt anything other than what I would now call a crush in my teenage years, I somehow do believe that young love is real. And this is because I have seen it manifest in others. I have had friends who were high school sweethearts who actually made it to happily ever after. Their exciting young relationships grew and developed into true love. However, for every high school couple that remains together, many more don’t. And, of the couples that do, the dark truth is that some will probably get divorced before they have been married for ten years. So while Ayo Lawal believes that love is a one-time feeling experienced only by a young, pure, free heart, I beg to disagree.

You know, I was once in a relationship that made me feel all of it, but it was only for a period. This made me realise that every relationship is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of love. It is different with different people. The moments you felt loved and appreciated are yours forever. No one can take them away from you. That’s the beauty of life; every moment is a memory that lasts forever. Every individual you come across has something unique to add to your experience. The more open you are to meeting different people, the more chances you have to find a fulfilling and beautiful relationship. True love is not bound to time or a person’s presence in your life forever. A moment is enough to know you have been loved, which you will cherish for the rest of your life. This debate could continue forever because, truth be told, there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to issues of the heart. What has your experience with love been like? Are you still hung up on a love that’s long gone? I am no love expert, but whatever the case, I would say you should be kind enough to yourself

Konye and give your heart more than a second chance if need be. After all, who says the 4th time can’t be a charm?
