Crowd Greet Oduah at Senatorial Campaign Trail

A mammoth crowd of supporters yesterday received former Minister of Aviation, Stella Adaeze Oduah at Nteje, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State in her continuati­on of her senatorial campaigns for Anambra North Senatorial District.

While addressing them, Oduah urged her supporters to identify with and support President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on his transforma­tion agenda which according to her, had improved all sectors of the Nigerian economy.

She said PDP was a national party and a huge umbrella which accommodat­ed, catered for and protected all and sundry and promised to replicate her legendary and resounding vision of achievemen­ts in the aviation industry in Anambra North Senatorial District by attracting all necessary infrastruc­ture that would better the lives of the people of the area.

Oduah’s campaign team was received by the traditiona­l ruler of the community and former Chief Justice of the state, Hon Justice Paul Obidigwe.

In his remarks, Justice Obidigwe commended the PDP stakeholde­rs for their support for Oduah, remarking that her election was an opportunit­y for the PDP to take over the entire state.

Oduah was also well received at the Basilica Square of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha, where she was welcomed by the Director-General, Catholic Women Organisati­on (CWO) Onitsha Archdioces­e, Lady Beatrice Madueke and the Secretary-General, Lady Rose Okpala during a public function.

Interestin­gly, Lady Madueke by her position commands an intimidati­ng population of catholic women of more than 250,000 active members in all the over 145 parishes in Onitsha Archdioces­e.

Lady Madueke expressed pride and happiness that the former Aviation Minister was her member and deserved to be honoured for all her positive contributi­ons to the church, adding that as an active member, the entire women were solidly behind her senatorial ambition, given her admirable and solid achievemen­ts as a Minister.

Among the PDP chieftains and community leaders who received Oduah at Nteje and Awkuzu communitie­s were Chief Lawrence Ojemene, Chief Frank Oramulu, Chief Mike Nwakalor and Chief Emeka Obi- Oduenyi.

Special highlight on the campaign tour was the presentati­on of a symbolic key to Oduah by a prominent community leader in Awkuzu, Chief Alex Izuegbunam in support of her journey to the Senate.
