I was Not Imposed on Plateau People, Says Pwajok

- Seriki Adinoyi in Jos

Gubernatorial candidate in Plateau State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Gyang Pwajok, has debunked the insinuations making the rounds that he was imposed on the people of the state by the incumbent Governor, Dr. Jonah Jang, saying he polled the overwhelming votes of the delegates from all the zones in the state during the party’s primaries to emerge as the candidate.

Describing the propaganda as ridiculous, Pwajok noted that the total votes of all the other 15 aspirants that contested the primaries election with him was nothing near the votes he polled in the primaries.

Pwajok stated this yesterday while receiving supporters from Kanke Local Government Area, who paid him a solidarity visit at Rock View Hotel Jos, to appreciate him for picking one of them in the person of Arch. Yilji Gomwalk as his running mate.

He declared that it was obvious that delegates preferred him over his counterparts due to his credibility and competence, adding that his votes came from across Central, Southern and Northern zones, cutting through ethnic and religious affiliations.

While admonishing plateau people to be wary of such baseless and cheap propaganda, he urged them to be sensitive, especially now that the campaigns are getting heated up.

Like many other groups that had paid a similar visit, the Kanke people pledged their unalloyed support, saying voting President Goodluck Jonathan and Senator Gyang Pwajok is a project that must be fulfilled.

Chairman of Kanke Local Government Council, John Ishaku Gotau, who led the people, said Kanke People have resolved to deliver PDP from the top to the bottom. He said despite the task ahead, PDP will remain the government to serve Plateau State, come May 29.
