Delta PDP Not in Alliance with Accord Party, Says Nwaoboshi

- InAsaba

Victor Efeizomor The immediate past Chairman, Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, yesterday debunked claims that the party was in agreement with Accord Party in the forthcoming general elections in the state.

Nwaoboshi, who described such information as mischievous and misleading, urged the electorate in Delta north to discountenance the purported alliance as it was the “handiwork of name droppers.”

Nwaoboshi, who is the Delta north senatorial candidate of the party, also warned his rival contestant from the Accord Party, Victor Ochei, to desist from confusing voters with his campaigns, insisting that there is no existing political understanding between Ochei and the PDP governorship candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

Speaking through the Director General (DG) of his campaign organisation, Hon. Pascal Adigwe, Nwaoboshi maintained that Okowa, “has no single iota of political relationship and otherwise with Ochei, who under our nose despised and fought Okowa.

“Ochei alone worked against the interest of Delta north, so he has long ago become an outcast in the political arrangement and philosophy of Anioma people.

“Let our people continue to sustain the Anioma political philosophy, which we have created because that we can stand tall and make our demand. It is PDP all the way and we will not tolerate any form of anti-party activities,” he added.

Adigwe said Delta north needs a character as represented by Nwaoboshi, who will continue to sustain and protect the Anioma political interest and not somebody who will destroy what the people had labored to achieve.

“When it was time for the sons of Anioma to be counted, Nwaoboshi rose up to the occasion, Ochei was there to destroy.Nwaoboshi was determined to ensure thatAnioma people were pulled out of the political slavery.

“Nwaoboshiisavoicetobereckoned with. House of Assembly compared to Senate, it is too pedestal. Ochei is a small boy, if he gets to the Senate, he will be swallowed. Senate is not meant for Lilliputians or money bags,” Adigwe stressed.

Recalling the political antecedents of his principal, Adigwe said Nwaoboshi has been state chairman of PDP for two sessions, as well as chairman of chairmen of PDP across the country.

Adigwe revealed that Nwaoboshi was principal secretary to former President Shehu Shagari and also principal secretary to former governor of the old Bendel State, Ambrose Alli.

According to him, Nwaoboshi has served as commissioner in Delta State and was the first secretary of PDP in Delta State, adding that it was from Nwaoboshi’s office that PDP was formed in Delta State.

“Look at those other senatorial districts are throwing up – Amori (central) is his contemporary, Senator Manager (south) is his contemporary. Then you went to go and bring a third eleven to march Manager and Amori. Anioma people need character at the senate and not a mercantile politician who is going there to talk about money,” he insisted.
