APC, Mecure Take Health Care to Epe
Over 2,000 people have benefited from a health programme courtesy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a leading diagnostics company, Mecure Diagnostics Company limited in the Epe area of Lagos State.
Speaking at the event, its sponsor and former member of the House of Representatives, Hon Tunde Salau, said the event was put together in furtherance of APC’s resolve to have a healthy nation.
He noted that the importance of good health cannot be over emphasized in any society, hence the need to ensure a health citizenry for a prosperous nation.
According to him, this is not the first time he was sponsoring the programme on behalf of the APC across Epe local government, in view of the premium the party places on good health
This, he stressed was the reason why the comprehensive health programme was nonpartisan to tackle various, health challenges affecting the people.
“This programme is not like any other health programme, and that was why decided to engage one of the leading healthcare providers to assist our people in tackling their challenge.
“We could have done otherwise but we believe our people deserve the best that we can give them and the result is what we are seeing.
“You would have also have seen that we deliberately brought the programme to their doorstep at no cost to show that we value our people and all that they stand for”. He said
Continuing salau said the health care programme has no political undertone and has been applauded by Epe people, irrespective of political affiliation, just as he also commended the Adebowale family for supporting the initiative, which he said was fundamental to the people
According to him, this in view of the fact that the exercise has revealed the fact there was a prevalence of eye challenges, occasioned by fish preservation techniques in the area
Salau, who has sponsored several empowerment programmes in the area, promised to continue the gesture, calling on the people to vote for APC candidates, in the coming polls
He also tasked the state government to further assist in Epe in realising its potential to raise the people’s living standard.
