Presidential Poll: How God Took over Jonathan, Says Obi
The former Governor of Anambra State and the National Deputy Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Campaign Council, Mr. Peter Obi, has said: “God took control of President Goodluck Jonathan,” and gave him uncommon wisdom to take the outcome of the election as he did, therefore preventing Nigeria from sliding into chaos.
Speaking during the Umuoji Youth Development Association’s Award at Umuoji yesterday, Obi said Jonathan’s action would go a long way in entrenching democratic culture and values not just in Nigeria and Africa, but even beyond.
He expressed optimism that history would sooner than later recognise President Jonathan as one of the greatest Nigerians who insisted, against all odds, that the blood of any Nigerian was not worth spilling because of his political ambition.
Speaking at the event, the National Leader of Umuoji association, Mr. Joseph Okonkwo, said the decision to present Obi with an award over a year he left office was to show him appreciation for laying the foundation for the continued growth and development of Anambra State.
He said all the towns in the state benefitted from Obi’s good leadership, including Umuoji that benefitted in road construction, youth empowerment, security, education and other sectors.
The Igwe of Umuoji, HRH, Igwe Cyril Enweze, and a recipient of the award, lauded Obi for laying an enduring foundation for the state upon which subsequent leaders are expected to build on.
