FG Issues RFPs to Seven Prospective Concessionaires for Warri Port
The National Council on Privatisation (NCP) has directed that seven prequalified bidders who successfully met the 70 per cent score from the evaluation of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for prospective concessionaires for Terminal B Warri Old Port be issued with the Request for Proposals (RFP).
Vice-President Namadi Sambo, who is the chairman of the council, directed the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) to issue the RFPs to the prequalified bidders during its last meeting in Abuja.
The firms, which reportedly passed the preliminary assessment included, Bright Ocean Integrated Services, Transnet Rosehill Group, Solent Stevedores International and Neon Adani Ports Consortium.
Other are Marine Infrastructure Consortium, Ecomarine Consortium and Global Infrastructure.
Following the approval of the NCP, advertisements seeking EOIs from prospective concessionaires for Terminal ‘B’ Warri Old Port were placed in some selected national dailies in June 2014, after which bids were received in August 2014.
At the close of the submission, 13 EOIs, were harvested and subsequently evaluated.
The evaluation, which was based on responsive test and detailed assessment test of the 13 EOIs produced only seven applicants who passed the assessment.
The evaluation committee had recommended 70 percent as the minimum pass mark and further recommended that the seven successful applicants met the minimum pass mark and above be prequalified to move to the next stage for the issuance of the Request for Poposal (RFPs).
