Wema Bank Unveils New Logo

-

Nume Ekeghe Wema Bank Plc, in the process of reinventing itself, has pledged to remain innovative as it revealed its new identity. The bank revealed the new logo at all its branches nationwide yesterday.

Wema Bank disclosed this at its 70 anniversary celebration held in Lagos at the weekend.

The Chairman, Wema Bank Plc, Mr. Adeyinka Asekun in his welcoming remarks assured stakeholders that the bank will continue to meet their expectations

He said: “The bank continues to re-enact itself and is ruggedly determined to remain at the cutting edge of outstanding service delivery and superior returns.”

Speaking also at the an- niversary celebration, a past Managing Director of Wema Bank and a former Deputy Governor at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Tunde Lemo said the bank was destined for improvement.

He said: “When I moved to CBN in January 2004, there were 86 deposit money banks. Today, less than 20 of these banks are still surviving. The future is bright for Wema bank because this is a special brand. It is a very good brand and the worst times are over.”

Also, the Managing Director, Wema Bank, Mr. Segun Oloketuyi, in explaining the reason for rebranding, said: “We have been through many faces in our corporate life and where we are today thank God that Wema has been repositioned. When I joined Wema bank, the description were old school, old bank, processes that are not working, no technology and innovation.

“We put in six years of work to reposition the bank so we gave a contemporary institution like others operating in the same industry. And having done that, we thought it fit to give a new look to Wema bank.”

He disclosed that the branches had already gone through rebranding in their service.

He added: “What we have done in the past six years is to work and then get to the point where we can step out and make claims that are authentic and verifiable.

To give expression to all we have done, we gave a new look in what to expect from Monday (today).”
