Fashola’s Aide Presents Book on Taxation
The Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola SAN on Justice Sector Reforms, Mr. Lanre Akinsola, last Tuesday presented to the public his latest publication on personal income tax at the CITN Tax Professional Place, Alausa, Ikeja.
According to the author, Akinsola, the book, Personal Income Tax Act – Principles and Cases in Nigeria, is a response to recent developments in tax administration in Nigeria.
Akinsola, who had earlier served as the Senior Special Assistant on Taxation & Revenue to Fashola during his first term in office noted that with various tiers of government reviewing their tax administration machineries for the purpose of maximizing their internally generated revenue, taxation is gradually reclaiming its pride of place as the prime source of government revenue.
He said the book is an attempt to present the Personal Income Tax Act through the eyes of the courts.
Present at the well attended public presentation of the book, which was chaired by Ogun State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mrs. Abimbola Akeredolu were Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye, Executive Chairman, Lagos State Internal Revenue Services, Mr. Tunde Fowler, Justice Senayo Ogunsanya and Justice Femi Adamson of the Lagos State High Court.
