Segun Awofadeji
The Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi has pledged its readiness to support the incoming administration of General Muhammadu Buhari with research results that will help the government succeed in its activities.
The Rector, Dr. Shu’aibu Musa, who stated this while inaugurating the polytechnic’s national research committee, said the institution possesses the necessary manpower and working tools to make huge contributions to the entrepreneurship development of the country.
He said the constitution of the research committee could not have come at a better time than now when the international community is looking up to Nigeria to solve its political problems.
He therefore charged members of the committee to encourage other lecturers and students to take more interest in research, saying that the polytechnic has set aside adequate funds to support research in critical areas of development.
Responding on behalf of members of the committee, the Chairman, Dr. Napoleon Usman, thanked the management of the polytechnic for throwing the challenge of rekindling research interest among staff and students of the institution.
He regretted that Nigeria is lagging behind in the field of research, promising that the impact of the committee would soon be felt by the country.
Members of the committee are Dr. James Alabebe, Dr. Amos Heman, Mr. Abdulmajeed Osunkunle, Mr John Ijebor and Malam Abubakar al-Sadiq, while Malam Ibrahim Gwaranga will serve as secretary of the committee.
