2015 BOA Lawyers’ League Enters Q’final Stage

After several weeks of round robin matches in the group stage of this year’s BOA Lawyers’ Football Tournament concluded last weekend, organisers yesterday rolled out fixtures for the quarter final matches.

According to the Corporate Affairs Executive of Astroturf 2000, Olaseni Harrison, Olisa Agbakoba Legal that topped Group A with nine points after winning three games and pulling draws in three others is paired with Tokunbo Orimobi that squeeze in tho the last eight as the last qualifier from Group B.

Babalakin as runners up of Group A is to take on Aluko Oyebode, second runners up of Group B.

High flying Banwo & Ighodalo that topped Group B with maximum 18 points from six matches, is paired with T. Oyetibo/B. Osipitan in the quarter final.

B& I attacking options in this edition appear to be confoundin­g to all teams that played them in the group stage. With 13 goals to show and only three against, Banwo & Ighodalo holds the ace going into this stage of the annual tournament instituted in memory of ……

Lagos State Ministry of Justice (LSMJ) that started sluggishly however revved up its scoring instinct, emerging the team with the highest goals scored (15) at the group stage to qualify as the first runners up of Group B with 13 points from four wins and a draw. It also conceded just five times to show its tenacity to defend well.

LSMJ is to take on Probitas/B. Ayorinde in what aficionado­s of the lawyers’league have dubbed a mouth-watering clash of skills and firework.

The organisers gave Sunday May 10, 2015, as the date for the last eight matches while the semi final matches are to hold on Sunday, May 17, at the same Astroturf 2,000 facility at Ikoyi, Lagos. All the matches are to hold at 4pm.

The grand finale to cap this year’s edition is slated for May 24 at the same venue with the time yet to be announced.
