-

Rebecca Ejifoma In a bid to reach out to the needy as well as give back to the society, Founder and Convener of the Arise Women Foundation, Mrs. Siju Iluyomade, recently took a team of medical experts to her alma mater, Queens College, Yaba Lagos, to cater to staff, students and parents.

Hence, Queens College had a large number of medical doctors that attended to their various primary health challenges including: sight problems, toothache and high blood pressure. There were also free drugs and a health talk among others.

Iluyomade, also a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God explained that she decided it was time she gave back to the society starting with her school, because, the school, according to her, gave her so much that has made me today.

She said, “This school has given Nigeria a lot of prominent people in her landscape and this is also part of Arise trying to reach every woman in every sphere of her endeavour. We the alumnae have come back to give to the school that impacted us so much.”

According to her, the Foundation always goes out to do routine check-up for women and the less-privileged in areas like Maroko, Makoko, Apapa and several other places; to as many women that wants medical and spiritually up-keep while playing her role as a pastor.

“We are saying that people should be entitled to primary healthcare even at the barest minimum,” adding that they go out and provide healthcare to those in need of it. The foundation offered free consultation, cancer screening, ophthalmology, hypertension test, orthodontia care, dentistry and practically everything by professionals.
