Glo Takes Top Corporate Customers to Old Trafford
Select Globacom corporate subscribers sponsored to watch live the Week 37 Barclays Premiership football match between Manchester United and Arsenal FC at Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester last weekend have commended Globacom for giving them royalty treatment on the trip which they described as “refreshingly different and fun-filled.’’
The journey was packaged by Globacom, the official telecoms partner of Manchester United Football Club in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic, as a reward scheme for its High Networth Individuals.
The corporate subscribers who were accompanied on the trip by Head of Corporate Sales, Globacom, Mr. Kamaldeen Shonibare, include Head of I.T, Frigoglass, Mr. Babatunde Muftau, Managing Director of SB Telecoms, Mr. Afolabi Abiodun and Group Head, Procurement & Services, Oando, Mr. Folahan Mudashiru. Others are Executive Director, Services/Company Secretary, Mid Western Oil, Mr. Chris Omoru and Head of IT, MRS Oil Plc, Mr. Oghenekaro Ologe.
Mr. Shonibare said the trip was organised in appreciation of the overwhelming support the network has received from the corporate sector over the years, adding that Globacom will continue to appreciate and reward its business partners.
The subscribers who watched the match live from the Hospitality Suite which gave them a panoramic view of the iconic Old Trafford Stadium described the moment as memorable, unforgettable and fulfilling.
Earlier on arrival in Manchester on Saturday morning, the team was received at the Manchester Airport by Manchester United officials. Globacom officials later checked the delegates into Executive Rooms at the prestigious Hilton Hotel Deansgate. Soon after, they were chauffeured to Old Trafford Stadium for a guided tour of Manchester United Stadium which excitingly lasted for hours with interesting and entertaining facts and figures about the club, past and present being shared.
The Manchester United officials regaled the delegation with the history of the club and show-cased all the trophies the club had won in the Champions League, FA Cup, Carling Cup, English Premier League and other competitions. They were also shown the Museum, the Dug Out where the coaches and reserve players of both the home and away teams sit during matches, the Tunnel from where players emerge into the pitch, the Players’ Dressing Room and the Players’ Lounge.
A member of the team who predicted the outcome of the match correctly, Mr Oghenekaro Ologe, was presented with a commemorative Manchester United jersey signed by all the club’s players
