First Heritage Hospital Opens in Mushin
To meet the medical needs of the local community for provision of quality healthcare services in Mushin and its neighbourhoods, First Heritage Hospital (FHH) was inaugurated in Mushin, Lagos at the weekend.
According to the Medical Director and Consultant Family Physician, FHH, Dr. Babatunde Keku, the birth of the hospital was as a result of the overwhelming health needs of Mushin community, which is evident by the high percentage of health incidence, including communicable diseases, chronic ailments, easily preventable disease, amongst others.
“As a community healthcare provider, our main focus will be on the primary healthcare needs and some cases of secondary care of the local people of Mushin and its neighbourhoods,” he assured.
He said the hospital was set up to pioneer a change in provision of sustainable community-based healthcare services, while adding that the hospital was open to developing working partnerships with the NHIS and referring agencies in the quest to meeting the needs of the people that are traditionally excluded from quality healthcare provision in our community.
Dr. Keku, who is also the leader of the team, said that the hospital has specialists care and referral arrangements with other local secondary and tertiary care hospitals.
“Also, we have visiting specialist in O&G, Surgery, Paediatrics, and Internal medicine.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Yewande Adesina, lauded the efforts of the Centre and expressed satisfaction with the work done. He said he hoped others would follow the standard “because the government alone cannot provide care for the population of this country.
