FLORENCE ITA-GIWA HOSTS SOUTH AFRICAN ENVOY
It was a most exciting moment, last Monday, when top politician and philanthropist, Sen. Florence Ita-Giwa, played host to the outgoing Consular General of South Africa in Nigeria, Thandi Mgxwati.
The farewell dinner, which held at the prestigious Sky Restaurant, Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, was attended by the crème de la crème, including South African Ambassador to Nigeria, Mokgethi S. Monasia, Opral Benson, Yewande Onilere, Grace Egbagbe, Laila St. Mathew Daniel and Ndidi Obioha, among others.
Society Happening gathered that the dinner was organised by the former Special Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo on National Assembly Matters, in order to further strengthen the relationship between Nigeria and South Africa, particularly in view of the recent xenophobic attacks recorded in some parts of South Africa.
With this and more, Ita-Giwa, also known as Mama Bakassi, has continued to prove to the world that her persistent call for the oneness of the African countries is genuine.
