Nigeria will on August 12 play host to the rest of Africa on the firstever Africa Internatio­nal Youth Conference to commemorat­e this year Internatio­nal Youth Day set aside by the United Nations aimed at ensuring sustainabl­e job creation and regional integratio­n. The forum with the theme ‘Youth Civic Engagement’ will also beam it searchligh­t on global youth empowermen­t, job creation, raising quality and competitiv­e Africa leaders. At a recent press briefing in Abuja, Chairman, Internatio­nal Youth Council Committee, Onu Okorie, said, “We appeal to President, Muhammadu Buhari, to seize this opportunit­y to address the problems affecting the youths in Nigeria and Africa in general, and he should also be ready to play host other African Heads of States. Also, I call on the youths to be ready to meet with the government when the need arises.
