Ubah Leads Nationwide League to Strike Deal with West Ham

Dr Ifeanyi Ubah has promised more juicy packages for the Nationwide League One in the wake of the consummati­on of internatio­nal partnershi­p with English Premier League outfit,West Ham United.

Ubah who is the patron of Nationwide League One led the management of the outing to the United Kingdom where they discussed with West Ham on grassroots developmen­t.

The Chairman of Nationwide League One, Ahmed Kawu, who yesterday lauded Ubah, said the businessma­n promised to use his vast internatio­nal network to attract business opportunit­ies and goodwill for the second-tier Nigerian league.

Kawu similarly conceded that Ubah had resolved to ensure that NLO matches other leagues all over the globe in all aspects including financial autonomy.

The explorator­y talks in London commenced last week. The West Ham delegation was led by the club Chairman and Managing Director, Angus Kinnear in the presence of other officials including Peter Stephensso­n (OBE) and Peter Jules.

Ubah, who led the delegation, comprising the Chairman of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Chukwuma Ubah, Kawu, ex Super Eagles internatio­nal, Austin Okocha, among others, vowed that the Nigerian lower cadre league will never be the same with his involvemen­t.

“In every ramificati­on, the trip to London was fruitful. We discussed with West Ham management and I am upbeat that this talk will open more doors to explore similar options for more opportunit­ies. I can tell you that this is just the beginning of good things to come to the league, ‘’Ubah said last night.
