Gombe to Establish University of Technology

Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State has announced the intention of the government to establish a University of Science and Technology in the state before the end of his tenure.

He said the initiative is inspired by the need to develop the right manpower that would be interested in researching into why there is no ground water as far as one kilometre deep below the surface.

Dankwambo spoke in Gombe while receiving the Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal University, Kashere, Gbenga Daniel and his team at the government house chambers.

“We are thinking of establishing a second university of science and technology. We have a natural location and we will do our best to ensure that before the end of this tenure, we establish one.

“We will have to develop our kind of manpower that will be interested in research. University is about research.
